Ratings, Reviews and Testimonials

February 08, 2010:

Dr. Maddux’s report writing skills, timeliness, and clarity in communicating ideas relative to other mental-health experts can best be described as a “5” on a 1-5 scale. On direct, he was a “5” and on cross, a “4.” Overall, this expert is extremely compelling. I give him 5/5 stars on being prompt, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. I’d give him 4/5 stars for his understanding of my needs. From a customer service prospective, I would recommend him. The only area that needs a little work is responding to curveball questions on cross examination. This will improve with more ebts.

I was pleased with the outcome of my case. Dr. Maddux's Parenting Evaluation was helpful to the court. In this case, I did not re-direct Dr. Maddux after cross examination because the testimony presented was detailed and thorough. All points of concern were fully addressed and explained on direct exam and cross exam. On a 1-5 scale, I'd give him a 4 on his assessment of parenting ability. In order, my rating of his assessment of parenting ability is based on his: 1) Use of Psychological Testing, 2) Preparedness, 3) Testimony Style, and 4) Presentation in a Courtroom. I would use Dr. Maddux again for an evaluation of Child Sexual Abuse Accommodation Syndrome and parenting ability. I would recommend Dr. Maddux to my colleagues. Dr. Maddux maintained his composure and professionalism despite enduring a lengthy and somewhat frustrating cross-examination. His credibility as an expert was strengthened by his presentation.

He (Dr. Maddux) nailed the referral questions. He clearly has the psychological and legal knowledge to get this type of work done. I've read about 50 evaluations. Compared to other evaluations I've read, Dr. Maddux's evaluation was far superior. I would use Dr. Maddux again. I would recommend Dr. Maddux to my colleagues. You can add my name (to this testimonial); It will look more legitimate.

I first contacted Dr. Maddux as a potential resource in a very contentious family law case involving, among other things, parental rights and mental illness.  Dr. Maddux responded to my inquiry quickly and professionally.  In the course of exploring whether he would be the right expert for my case, he took the time to review a forensic assessment that had been submitted by the opposition, and as we discussed the issues in the case he made some suggestions that were immediately helpful.  He demonstrated a clear grasp of the legal challenges presented, and the critical role that forensic psychology would play in the pending litigation.  Ultimately, we decided that my client would be best served by pursuing a different approach than I'd originally planned, and it was not necessary for me to retain Dr. Maddux, but I would certainly not hesitate to do so in the future!
